Images of Tibet and Yunnan
Traveling to Tibet and the Tibetan-heritage parts of Yunnan Province gives an interesting perspective on the Chinese desire to modernize and control and the Tibetan desire to maintain the essential elements of their unique culture. Beautiful small temples are surrounded by the ruins of the larger temple complexes that were there before, and many temples are being rebuilt. The landscapes of the countryside are majestic and beautiful and the people are warm.
