Driving through Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti Plain in Tanzania during the wildebeest migration provides an unforgettable wildlife experience. Masai guides patrolled our tent sites at night, but still we found animal tracks in the mornings. Wildebeests passed by in enormous hordes. Lions crept through the grass near our lunch spot. Elephants came up to our vehicle and flapped their ears and trumpeted. Giraffes trod their stately way through the trees. Hippos wallowed in the river. Birds of all kinds were everywhere through the landscape.
